I was at a meeting today at a major statistical software company in Cary that shall remain unnamed, and someone said that we could continue the conversation we were having “offline.” Which struck me as odd, since we were offline.

So, perhaps since people need new ways to indicate that things should be taken into a different realm, here’s my new term: “off-meat”

To take a conversation out of a meeting and into an online environment is to take it “off-meat.”
