I’m a recipient of nifty mail today– Benorbeen offered up some books for free on the IRC the other day, and I told him I’d take the humor and linguistics books. And the linguistics books came in force, which is completely dope. Some are pretty textbook lookin’, so those may not penetrate the reading list real soon, with grad school on the horizon. But others look pretty keen.

I probably haven’t used this space to pump the best linguistics/language development book ever, The Language Instinct by Steven Pinker. (Well worth your $10.20, people!)

I also got a videotape from Mikala– she and John did a sketch show and she sent me a copy. I can’t wait to watch it… and would have done so tonight… but Ladybug and I just had to know how Jack Bauer would ever get out of this pickle. And he did!

Speaking of Mikala, I wonder if I can get her to indulge my nerdiness when she is in Tibet and try out Skype with me? Seriously, I just can’t think of anyone in the States that I would talk to while I’m on my ‘puter.

The Marvel film wiz talks comic books… among other stuff. Pages 4-5 caught my attention the most.
