Tinkle Time

Oddities 1 Comment

Have you seen the commercials for Barbie’s little sister, Tinkle Time Kelly? It looks like a pretty standard doll commerical… Barbie peeks through a window and looks at Kelly, who’s a little smaller. Then she drinks from her bottle. And then, there’s this sing-songy bit about how she’s about to tinkle, and you see this tiny pink toilet, and then someone lifts the seat.

I’m ok up until this point, but then, in real sing-sony fashion, you’re being told that her panties are coming down, and sure enough, they do. And I’m creeped out at this point– I don’t need any images of little panties dropping. Ew.

But it gets worse! You see a child’s hand hold Kelly over the toilet and give her a good squeeze, and out comes the fake pee. What the fuck? NOOOO! Not on TV! I don’t need to see this! It’s like I am watching Corey’s nasty-ass Consumption Junction videos again, only now it’s kids doing it.

Look, people, there may be some very educational and healthy reasons to have peeing dolls. Whatever. But damn, please, not on Cartoon Network. Some things are best left… well, on the Internet, I guess.

Doc South in the Deep South

Improv No Comments

Try this on for size– not only is New York rocking the Documentary and Chicago/Chapel Hill rocking the Documentary South, but a student of mine at the Implosion festival in Clemson took the form home, and now Let’s Try This at Georgia Tech is doing the Documentary South.

Hooray, LTT!, for rocking out with this form. I love that Doc fever is spreading!

Ghost Ren Faire

The Doctor sent me this:

Renaissance Fair Ghost Town

Pictures of an abandoned ren-faire fairgrounds site, apparently abandoned in 1999 and in real disrepair now. There are some beautiful, haunting shots in there.
