March 11, 2005 Technology No CommentsLadybug and I just finished watching The Notebook, which she enjoyed tremendously, and I enjoyed watching with her. Seriously, if you can’t smooch a girl after watching this movie, you will never, ever smooch her.
While we were doing that, I was using OurTunes to transfer all the music I have put on my laptop onto my desktop. Holy cow, I can’t say enough good things about this program, which Will Zone turned me on to, and which is almost certainly driving the fine people at Apple and the RIAA nuts. When anyone sharing music “for personal use only” (which is, in fact, why we share within the house) is peeped by an OurTunes user, the whole catalog is fair game. It probably won’t be long before Apple makes iTunes put DRM on any music file that it rips. But, in the meantime, I am saying a big hurrah for the people who write programs that allow me to more easily participate in fair use activties… loading up my mp3 player every time I wanted to transfer files was sucking butt. This is tons faster and a boatload easier, as well.
