Tune-Up and Tunes

I have been geeking out a fair bit in the last 24 hours. Well, and watching movies. Today alone, I have tackled Elf (lame fun), Speed (forgot how boring that was the second time around), and The Village (zzz).

Last night, I set up an improv blog that I’ll share with the world when it has some content in it. I have two or three essays that I know I want to write and a few more that I don’t yet know I want to write. Maybe between cohesive entries, I will just list the names of improvisers I like.

Then, spent some time tweaking my work laptop to be just the way I like it. Set all the system fonts to Arial Unicode MS, which makes for a nice, clean interface, and then began overriding all of Firefox’s fonts with minimum 10pt Arial Unicode MS. I love clean! CLEAN!

Got in on the beta for Microsoft’s AntiSpyware– so it’ll be free until July, at which point Redmond will probably snoop into my PC, disable the software, and make everything else stop working.

Fixed a minor bug in my Feedreader install.

Put about 50 new CDs on half.com. Sold 5 already.

And then went hunting for music. Lots and lots of new music. Some of the big scores: a Shins live set (not sure what format it’s in… it’s still downloading), a Franz Ferdinand set in mp3 format, and a bunch of tracks off of Epitonic.

Geek time.

With the YesAnd.com buletin boards down– and for now, the whole YesAnd site– the IRC is being overrun with people who are hungry for some message board action. Let the longform vs. shortform debate rage once more!
