Vote If You Want To Read

Brian K. Vaughan, who is one of the better comic book writers out there right now, is anticipating that supply will fall short of demand for his next series, Ex Machina. So he’s come up with an equitable way, not to mention a socially responsible one, to mete out copies: you have to be registered to vote to buy the book. Way to go, Brian K!

Well, this is certainly very cool. Musicplasma will let you type in the name of a band that you like, and then it will show you related artists and artists who have similar styles. The navigation is keen, in a spacey way, and thopugh my initial reaction was that it was probably confined to mostly big names, a couple of indie favorites like Gladhands and Chisel showed up as well. So, very neat. And I have a few more bands to look for on eMusic.

Also musically related: I dropped another $9 on iTunes, buying two Ben Folds eps with John Mark Painter from Fleming and John, and a Breeders track from the Hedwig cover album.
